Six Sessions for a Fulfilling Life, While Living with CI
What better way . . . to get all the information, all the tools, and all the strategies you need, to create the kind of life you dream of living . . . than by telephone, from the comfort of your own home (or office)?
Our Feel Better Now-CI Teleseminar Series One explores the six main areas that challenge people living with CI . . . while offering practical, proven ways for effectively handling each area of challenge.
And what are these challenging areas?
As you juggle the demands of family, home, job, friends, and CI, do you struggle with . . .
- Meeting your daily needs?
- Being overwhelmed by things to do?
- Feeling burdened by energy drains?
- Identify your life purpose?
- Be more optimistic, more often?
- Create the kind of life you dream of living?
We offer six, life-transforming, hour-long teleseminars (seminars by telephone), in which you'll learn practical life-coaching strategies for living a fulfilling life, while living with CI.
And . . .
You'll learn about extraordinary Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tools and techniques: Not only can they help you change self-defeating thoughts, they can help you make lifelong, positive changes in behavior. Our Teleseminar Series One -- Six Sessions for a Fulfilling Life, While Living with CI -- is based on the new book, Don't Let Chronic Illness Stand in Your Way: The Coach Approach to Reaching Your Potential, by Certified Life Coach, Sylvia Lippmann, MA, MEd, CLC.
This teleseminar also draws upon the scientifically tested tools and techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Dan Lippmann, LCSW, who lives with chronic illness himself, has spent decades helping his clients transform the many emotional challenges of living with CI, through the effective use of CBT.
Combining the strategies of life coaching with the tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, our six teleseminar sessions will give you new, practical ways to deal with the challenges you face, while living with CI.
Here is a brief overview of each session (unlike our other teleseminar series topics, you may also purchase just one or two sessions from Series One, the Fulfilling Life teleseminar, as well as all six sessions):
Teleseminar Series One:
Six Sessions for a Fulfilling Life, While Living with CI
First Teleseminar Session
The Magic of Self-Care:
Your Foundation for a Fulfilling Life
Like many people with CI, our client, Beth, woke each morning with feelings of despair. But after starting CI life coaching with Sylvia, she learned about "The Magic of Self-Care."
In a matter of months, Beth was waking up to anticipation and even excitement. She had learned that she could do the things she wanted to, because she now knew how to pace herself and meet her own needs.
During our first teleseminar, we'll explore the most important foundational skill for designing and living a fulfilling life: Practicing good self-care.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- What stands in the way of meeting your own needs?
- How can you dispel the "selfish" myth, and other self-limiting programming?
- Why basic routines -- morning, afternoon, evening -- boost your energy, help you feel good, and save time.
- How to make self-care fun and enjoyable.
Second Teleseminar Session
The Wisdom of Setting Priorities:
A Balanced Life Requires Wise Choices
For Beth, as for most people, another aspect of meeting her own needs was learning how to set priorities (instead of drifting from one day, or one crisis, to the next).
Using life coaching strategies, Beth first identified what she really wanted to have in her life, and then she developed a workable plan to create those things that were part of her life-balance priorities.
She had already learned to accomplish her goals in small, doable steps -- and to rest regularly, to avoid a debilitating flare-up -- so she was well on her way to creating a balanced life.
In our second teleseminar session, we'll explore the next step in self-care: Creating a balanced life by establishing your true priorities.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Expressing your needs truthfully to others.
- Focusing on activities that hold lasting importance.
- Taking small, consistent steps toward creating a balanced life.
- Using accountability measures to ensure follow-through.
Third Teleseminar Session
The Benefits of Saying "Goodbye Energy Drains":
Gaining the Energy for What Matters
Another aspect of Beth's life that benefited from coaching -- one that fit in with practicing daily self-care and setting priorities for herself -- was learning to let go of activities that didn't give her joy or happiness: her "energy drains."
Beth decided to eliminate several group events that she no longer enjoyed. This gave her four or five more days each month for things she really looked forward to -- activities that made her feel energized, instead of drained.
In our third teleseminar session, we'll explore another aspect of self-care and life balance: Eliminating "energy drains" -- whether they include a cluttered home environment, or social activities that steal your energy and leave you drained -- in favor of a stress-free, supportive environment, and activities that give you energy and enhance your life.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Listing the top energy drains in each of your life areas.
- Creating a Top Ten "to do" list for tackling important energy drains.
- How to rid your life of clutter, by taking small, doable steps.
- Identifying the anti-procrastination strategy that works best for you.
Fourth Teleseminar Session
The Essential Tools of a Life Well-Lived:
Identifying Core Values & Your Life Purpose
Once Beth was skilled at all the practical aspects of self-care, Sylvia helped her identify her core values and life purpose.
Knowing what these were brought new meaning to establishing her priorities, and helped Beth
organize her time around the deeply felt aspects of who she truly was.
This gave her a new feeling of self-worth, and contributed to her fulfillment in daily life.
In our fourth teleseminar session, we'll explore a larger aspect of self-care: Identifying your core values, and finding your life purpose.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Identifying the qualities that need to be present in your life, for you to feel happy and fulfilled (examples: beauty, joy, creativity, adventure).
- What have you been drawn to do, ever since childhood?
- How can you fulfill your life purpose, in ways that do not depend upon how you feel physically?
Fifth Teleseminar Session
The Secret Ingredient in Happiness:
Learning to Be Optimistic, No Matter What
After discovering her core values and purpose, Beth began working with Sylvia to learn ways of maintaining an optimistic perspective, despite the inevitable ups and downs of her life.
Beth learned how her thoughts and beliefs played a central role in how she perceived her life. And she was determined to exchange any unhelpful thoughts for helpful, positive ones. Instead of repeating "I can't," she learned to say "I can," because there was always something she could do.
In our fifth teleseminar session, we'll explore the power of thoughts and beliefs in maintaining a feeling of happiness and satisfaction with life: Learning to exchange the habitually negative for the habitually positive.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Separating who you truly are, your identity, from your illness.
- How to frame life situations in a positive way.
- Learning to practice the positive power of gratitude.
- How to feed your spirit.
Sixth Teleseminar Session
The Adventure That Is Your Life:
Creating the Life You Dream of Living
Things were really going well for Beth: she had learned how to handle her daily life in far more satisfying ways. Now it was time to look at the Big Picture.
Sylvia helped Beth remember . . . all the things she'd once dreamt of doing, and to list those things that still excited her. Next, Beth committed to small, easy steps toward fulfilling one or two of her lifelong dreams.
In our sixth teleseminar session, we'll explore how to make your life an exciting adventure: How to see yourself as the architect of your own fulfilling, adventuresome life.
Some of the tools and issues we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Listing everything you've ever wanted to do.
- Choosing one dream, and identifying small steps that you can take to fulfill it.
- Creating a support team to assist you in living your life as an adventure.

Teleseminar Series Two:
Seven Sessions for Foolproof Weight Loss
What better way . . . to get all the research-proven information, tools, and strategies you need, to achieve the kind of weight loss you dream of . . . than by telephone, from the comfort of your own home (or office)?
Our Feel Better Now-CI Teleseminar Series Two explores the six main areas that challenge people who want to lose weight . . . while offering practical, proven ways for effectively handling each one.
And what are these challenging areas?
Aside from the daily challenges of living with chronic illness, do you struggle with . . .
- Diet-sabotaging thoughts (Why bother to . . . )?
- Overeating, bingeing, and backsliding?
- Hunger between meals, as well as cravings?
- Feel motivated to exercise?
- Handle stress without resorting to food?
- Build confidence, and stabilize your outlook?
We offer seven, hour-long teleseminars (seminars by telephone), in which you'll learn research-proven strategies for achieving the weight loss you want -- or need for medical reasons.
Our Teleseminar Series Two -- Seven Sessions for Foolproof Weight Loss -- is based on the scientifically researched Beck Diet Solution, which uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods to teach the helpful thoughts and positive actions that lead to weight loss success.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Dan Lippmann, LCSW, has helped dozens of CI clients achieve lasting weight loss, using the tested and proven CBT methods of the Beck Diet Solution.
Why does the Beck Diet Solution work so well? Like all Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-based methodologies, the Beck Diet Solution replaces negative, self-sabotaging thoughts with the helpful thoughts and positive actions that lead to success.
The Beck Diet Solution doesn't rely on willpower, and it does not require any particular diet. Instead, it builds mental skills and supportive behaviors which ensure -- not just weight loss -- but lifelong best-weight maintenance.
The Beck Diet Solution is a system for learning new thoughts and behaviors, not a system that advocates another new "diet." It offers a well-researched, comprehensive approach -- one that, once learned, will help you achieve your desired outcome.
One aspect of the Beck learning process involves working with assigned tools between Teleseminar sessions (participants are asked to purchase a copy of The Beck Diet Solution Weight Loss Workbook, available in bookstores, or through such online booksellers as Amazon.com). More information can be found at: www.beckdietsolution.com.
At the same time, those who would like the ongoing, individual support of life coaching -- while participating in our weight loss teleseminar sessions -- can also purchase a specially priced coaching package of seven, half-hour phone sessions with CI Life Coach, Sylvia Lippmann, MEd, MA, CLC.
Coaching is often beneficial for overcoming related obstacles, getting motivated through outside accountability, and staying on track to meet self-identified goals.
Our Seven Sessions for Foolproof Weight Loss teleseminars offer new hope and encouragement, while teaching the skills and behaviors that together lead to weight loss success.
Here is a brief overview of each session:
Teleseminar Series Two:
Seven Sessions for Foolproof Weight Loss
First Teleseminar Session
There Is a Solution:
Get Ready for Success
Even before her diagnosis of diabetes, our client, Sally, had tried to lose weight many times. But whatever she lost, she always regained. Sometimes, Sally told herself the "wrong" diet was to blame; other times, that willpower was just not her "strong suit."
Whatever the reason, Sally felt guilty and frustrated, and these painful feelings led her to the solace of her favorite snack foods, or overeating in general.
Sally's physician was concerned about her weight, since it was largely the reason for her Type II
diabetes. And he referred her to Dan for weight loss counseling, using the CBT-based Beck Diet Solution.
After one session, Sally had a new understanding of why dieting had not worked for her. And she was determined to learn all the skills Dan outlined, while also sharing a new method of self-motivation.
Would you like to know if the Beck Diet Solution is a good idea for you, too? Our teleseminars are the perfect way to experience how powerful the Beck Diet Solution is (after all, many scientific studies have revealed its effectiveness).
As you work with Dan during the seven sessions of this teleseminar, you'll get all the features of counseling (including the ability to ask questions, between-session assignments, and specific, personal feedback). Plus, you'll have a group of peers to share your experiences with.
During our first teleseminar session, we'll introduce the Beck Diet Solution and what makes it so successful. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Choosing a diet coach or diet "Buddy"
- Finding the diet that's right for you
- The Beck Diet Solution questionnaire
- Learning good motivational skills
Second Teleseminar Session
Assembling Your Tools:
Gather Everything You Need to Succeed
Sally's second session with Dan was another eye-opener: so many of the things he said made perfect sense. Some were even things she'd thought of herself, but couldn't seem to act upon. They seemed like too much trouble -- for too few results. After talking with Dan, Sally realized this wasn't true at all.
During the second teleseminar session, we'll introduce strategies that are foundational for the Beck Diet Solution. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Committing to a diet plan
- Building your confidence
- Slowing down and eating "mindfully"
- Meeting your diet coach
- Organizing your environment to lose weight
Third Teleseminar Session
Last Minute Instructions:
Your Success Skills
During her third session with Dan, Sally began to absorb some of the finer points of successful dieting -- reacquainting herself, for instance, with the difference between real hunger and the emotional craving for food that she felt whenever she wanted to ease her stress, or pain, or fear.
It's not that she didn't know these things. It's that she somehow ignored them, whenever she tried to lose weight. But Dan helped her see just how important the mental aspect of dieting truly was. It was, in fact, just about everything.
During the third teleseminar session, we'll introduce the skills you need to succeed with the Beck Diet Solution. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and
concerns -- include:
- Making the time to diet
- Getting into gear, creating momentum
- Setting achievable goals
- Is it hunger, or is it craving?
- Reducing hunger and quieting cravings
Fourth Teleseminar Session
Ready, Set, Go:
Off to a Great Start
After absorbing the groundwork information, Sally was ready to actually begin the diet she'd
chosen to follow, using the mental tools she was learning with Dan.
At the same time, she began using helpful strategies to avoid overeating and unplanned eating, as well as recognizing what "full" really meant. Sally could see how she'd gained weight -- by allowing herself to use food to meet needs other than what it was intended for -- and she was eager to retrain, step by step, with Dan's guidance.
During the fourth teleseminar session, we'll introduce skills that will get you off to a great start with your chosen diet -- complemented by Beck Diet Solution strategies and tools. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Starting your diet
- Avoiding unplanned eating
- Putting a stop to overeating
- Redefining what full means
- Starting over this moment
- Preparing for the scale
- Not deceiving yourself
Fifth Teleseminar Session
It's All in Your Mind:
What You Think Is Key
Once Sally had begun her chosen diet, Dan helped her learn core mental skills that would mean the difference between failing and succeeding with her weight loss goals.
Among the thought-training skills Sally mastered, was overcoming the thought that dieting was somehow unfair. Those people can eat anything. Why can't I? Other sabotaging thoughts revolved around discouragement. I'll never lose weight. Why bother? Dan taught Sally some effective ways to respond to her undermining thoughts.
During the fifth teleseminar session, we'll introduce the thought-training skills you need to keep yourself motivated, and respond effectively when discouraged. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Paying attention to your thoughts
- Dissolving discouragement
- Correcting errors in thoughts and assumptions
- Learning to take things in stride
- Answering undermining thoughts
- Weighing-in without fear
Sixth Teleseminar Session
Succeeding in Special Situations:
Meeting Social Demands with Ease
Once Sally had learned to counter self-sabotaging thoughts effectively, it was time to take that skill into the "war zone" of her social life.
Dan helped Sally plan her strategy for eating with friends in restaurants, and for dealing with well-meaning family members who urged her to eat far more than she wanted to. Finally, they discussed strategies for traveling while practicing her chosen diet. Now Sally had the tools she needed to approach every social occasion with confidence, instead of with fear and dread.
During the sixth teleseminar session, we'll introduce the skills you need to practice your diet
in every sort of social situation. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Saying No, thank you to food pushers
- Eating out with ease
- Answering the alcohol question
- Traveling with confidence
- Alternative ways to reduce stress
- Problem solving with no problem
Seventh Teleseminar Session
Skills for the Long Term:
Staying in the Success Lane
During Sally's final session with Dan, it was time for her to learn long-term dieting and thought skills maintenance -- so she would always know how to get back on track and maintain her ideal weight, in addition to a positive, motivated outlook.
Dan worked with Sally on several key areas, among them how to always believe in herself, how to dissolve stress, and how to continue her exercise routine, at home or in the gym, no matter what.
During the seventh teleseminar session, we'll introduce the skills you need to maintain your diet, your exercise routine, and your positive outlook. Some of the elements we'll cover -- in addition to answering your questions and concerns -- include:
- Believing in yourself
- Dissolving stress quickly
- Managing the plateau periods
- Maintaining the will to exercise
- Expanding your horizons
- Keeping your skills fresh
- Preparing for your future
